PEOPLE Sustainable Café at the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
On 5 November 2018, the Slovenian PEOPLE team organised a Sustainable Café in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. Targeting mainly the industry and business environment, we aimed to communicate the added value of people-centred development for product development and innovation. The Slovenian PEOPLE team, Gregor Cerinsek (IRI UL), Slavko Dolinsek (IRI UL) and Dan Podjed (ZRC SAZU) presented good practices from the 1st PEOPLE Learning Cycle as well as international case studies together with the benefits and impact that has been demonstrated and recognized by the industry environment. We concluded the Sustainable Café with a discussion and Q&A session to address the challenges of the Slovenian business sector which were exposed by the attendees. The key concluding massage was that in addition to understanding and involving people we also have to consider what is technologically possible and viable. We have to build relationships between design, engineering, and people-centred research to achieve meaningfulness for people together with accepting the technological developments which are around us.
